Kempton’s Angie wins big title in the USA

Angie Bryant from Kempton Park proved that she is a force to be reckoned with when she won Ms Transcontinental 2018.

Angie Bryant put Kempton Park and Africa on the map when she was crowned Ms Transcontinental 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia in the USA recently.

The world title is a result of Angie’s hard work.

“I feel proud, yet humbled. God has been faithful on this journey, He has shown me favour. This is very overwhelming. A world title is very hard to win and it doesn’t come to Africa or South Africa that often.

“All of my hard work and challenges have been worth the while,” said Angie.

She started her modelling career at a tender age as a fashion model.

“I started my training with Davianne Blignaught in 1993 in fashion modelling at Just Models and with Carolyn Baldwin, who is my national director and pageant mom, in 2015,” explained Angie.

The local model’s career has seen her place second and third runner-up in various pageants and she has also scooped a number of titles, including Ms Animal Care 2015, Face of Model Manifest 2016, Queen of the World 2016 and Ms Africa 2018.

Angie is a the mother of a multi-talented four-year-old daughter, Gabriella Wildschut.

Her hobbies? “Latin and ballroom dancing, fashion designing, pageant coaching and singing. I have released two albums, This is Love in 2016 and She Is Africa this year,” said Angie.

Angie also told Express that her role model is Davianne who not only coached her as a model but taught her life lessons.

“Davianne is a woman with a heart of gold, she is a go-getter and nothing is too big for her to tackle. She is an icon in the fashion industry, yet so humble and loving,” added Angie.

“My advice to aspiring models is to contemplate and affirm the things that you want from the universe as if it has already happened to you on a daily basis. Don’t let words stop you from achieving your goals and realising your dreams.”
