Four killed in early morning accident on the N3

An inquest docket has been opened by Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department officers on scene.

Four male passengers in a minibus taxi were instantly killed in a collision with a SUV on the N3 northbound opposite Spruitview in the City of Ekurhuleni on Monday morning.

According to William Ntladi, spokesperson for Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS), they received the call around 5am. On arrival, a minibus taxi with 15 passengers was found lying on its side in middle of the road and the SUV wreckage, which had a driver only, was on the road island.

Four men found outside the taxi wreckage were declared deceased by paramedics. Thirteen other patients, including both drivers, were transported to various medical facilities around the City of Ekurhuleni for further medical care.
