EFF Ward 133 celebrates third birthday

EFF celebrates anniversary with the community of Ivory Park.

EFF Ward 133 Lusaka branch celebrated its third anniversary at Ivory Park Extension Three North hall on October 6.

Lusaka Branch spokesperson Teboho Radebe said the branch was formed in 2015 before the 2016 local elections.

“The branch was formed because of demarcation of wards in the city of Johannesburg municipality. Being one of the last formed branches of EFF, Ward 133 has made it a culture to celebrate their anniversary with the community,” Radebe said.

Lusaka branch deputy chairperson, Isaac Skiba said that the branch performed very well during the 2016 local government elections and becoming number six in all Gauteng branches after only eight months of existence.

The keynote address was given by the chairperson of the branch Klaas Seerane who thanked the community for choosing the EFF.

He also encouraged the branch members to stay united as they are heading to national elections next year.

The chairperson reminded the members that they were aiming to get 5 000 votes in their ward in next year’s elections.

The crowd was entertained by Ama 44 gumboots dancers, the Marabela girls with a Mozambican dance, Mehluko Arts Productions with Kofifi dance and poetry and New Generation with Pantsula dance.

“The Secretary of EFF Gauteng Moshe Koma also made a brief appearance encouraging members to stay united especially now that we were heading to the national elections. The event was made possible by small businesses in Ivory Park and the community at large by donating some of the groceries used to prepare food for the community,” Radebe said.

The chairperson Klaas Seerane also thanked all community members who attended and told them that the EFF will always be on the side of the poor.
