Intercare to host food drive for MES Kempton
“Together, we can make a difference in changing the heart of the inner city,” an organiser said.

In less than a month, residents can look forward to a fun-filled day at Intercare Glen Marais’ food drive in aid of MES Kempton Park at Cavendish Glen Shopping Centre.
On November 17, locals can look forward to an exhibition of motorcycles by the Christian Motorcyclists Association of South Africa Motorcycle Club, as well as a performance by Kyle the Indian Boertjie.
Before the fun can begin, Intercare encourage the community to make a donation of non-perishable items, which will be donated to MES.
“Together, we can make a difference in changing the heart of the inner city,” said Ada Botes, practice manager at Intercare Glen Marais, in a statement.
According to Botes, a trophy and prizes will be up for grabs for the business, school or individual who donates the most items.
“I want to encourage the Kempton Park community to support this special community drive,” she added.
Items can be donated on the day of the event or can be dropped off at Checkers Cavendish Glen, Intercare or Lancet.
Other fun activities on the day will include entertainment for children, a music truck, make-up tips, free cholesterol, sugar and blood pressure tests, as well as free hearing and eye tests.
Discount vouchers will also be available for different Cavendish Glen stores on the day.
