Elim Clinic hosts fund-raiser golf day at Kempton club
Funds raised will go towards patients who cannot afford to go to the clinic for treatment.
Elim Clinic hosted its 16th annual golf day to raise funds for the clinic at Kempton Park Golf Club on October 18.The golf day started at 11am on Thursday morning last week with 34 teams taking part. The purpose of this golf day is to raise funds for patients who cannot afford to go to the clinic for treatment, said Annetjie ver Burgh, administration assistant at Elim Clinic.
The golf day was established in 2002 by the Elim ex-students, who are old patients, who saw the need for the fund-raiser for people who need treatment but cannot afford it.
Elim Clinic is a rehabilitation clinic for people who suffer from addiction to alcohol, drugs, medication and gambling. The clinic has been running for 60 years and currently has 40 patients at its premises in Spartan.
Secundes Accountants (100) won the competition, followed by Roestoff Attorneys (98) and Barnard Inc Attorneys (95).
“We have companies we would like to thank for sponsoring the golf day, like Medi-Park Pharmacy, Air Products and Dosco, just to name a few. They are the reason this day is possible and we at Elim Clinic would like to thank them very much,” Ver Burgh said.
