Shell hole to host annual fête and parade
A prayer and wreath-laying ceremony will be hosted by the Rhodesian Light Infantry (RLI) at the Moth Memorial.
Retired Lt Col Wynand du Toit from 4 Reconnaissance Regiment will launch his new book, Soldaat, at the annual fête and parade of Moth Ex-servicemen’s Cottage Association on November 3.
The event will take place at Dickie Fritz Shell Hole in Edenvale in conjunction with the South African War Graves Society.
During the day, which starts at 9am, there will be a flea and military market selling militaria, CDs, military models and memorabilia.
Military vintage vehicles and a classic car show also feature on the programme, as well as two pipe bands.
The Moth Motorcycle Association East Rand will display modern motorcycles and the TS-Rook Sea Cadets will hold a parade.
