Pax from Endulweni survives with his music
He refuses to spend his time whining and doing nothing.
Job hunting could be extremely stressing especially if you do not know where to start or who to approach.
With this concern, we often hear people talk about “nepotism in the workplace”. This discourages some people to even start drafting a two-page CV for the job market.
Eventually, the negativity leads job seekers refraining from attempting to search for employment, preferring to stay at home and not to bother any longer.
However, despite these difficulties, there are some in this tough labour market who use their talent to forge ahead.
Local musician Mlungisi Ishmael Ngomane is one of the strong-willed people who refuses to spend time whining and doing nothing to improve his lot. Instead, he uses his talent to wade through the storms of unemployment.
Ngomane, popularly known as Pax the Pianist to his fans, is promoting his latest single which has been released online.
The single titled Take You has received overwhelming support on African radio stations, including Metro FM in Nigeria. The single was released on digital stores on September 25.
Ngomane, a pianist, composer and producer, started his music career in 2000. He plays with renown artists such as Sylvester Mazinyane and Bheki Mseleku.
The founder of Pax Entertainment Company, he stays at Endulweni Section, Tembisa, and works with up and coming artists and established musicians.
Ngomane uses his talent to groom up-and-coming artists in his studio. He has been involved in projects that include Black Eyes Entertainment and Black Ocean SA Arts Development Services.
Alongside Paul Hamma and McCoy Mrubatha as his mentors, he played synthesisers in the late Moses Khumalo’s album. His skills and talent in piano opened international doors. He became part of Suthukazi Arosiin’s band, accompanying him in his international tours. They have had a tour of Israel, performing at the Red Sea Jazz Festival.
In 2006, he composed and played synthesiser on Gloria Bosman’s album – Emzini, and backed her shows.
He composed and directed vocals and played an acoustic piano at the Varara Musical at Wits Theatre. In 2004, he directed musical at the Moses Molelekwa Arts Foundation.
On the house music circuit front, he has made guest performances in several festivals music conferences and nightclub gigs where his party drew hundreds of “house heads”.
Ngomane is credited with writing and producing some of the best unique house music, playing live music with great sound.
He continues to be one of the most sought-after pianists in South Africa.
