Talented Welamlambo model needs your votes
Mureyi aims to show her love and passion for the community by performing charity work.
Beauty queen Charmaine Mureyi (15) is appealing to the community to vote for her to stay in the Miss Summer Midrand and Miss Queen of Malamulele beauty pageants.
This talented young model, who stays in Welamlambo Section, originally hails from Elim Valdezi village in Venda.
Mureyi aims to show her love and passion for the community by performing charity work.
“I believe modelling has made me a better person. I am able to mingle with people and share ideas on how we can shape our society. I’ve been involved in various charities and saw how it is still difficult for our people to make a living and provide for their loved ones. Being a community ambassador made me realise that it is indeed true when people say ‘Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu’, meaning a person is a person through people. Beauty pageants empower women and provide them with the knowledge to bring about change in communities in need,” added Mureyi.
This Grade Nine learner from Armour Foundation Learning Institute said she was inspired by her cousin, Precious Khoza, to take part in modelling.
“She advised me that I had potential as a model and could make a difference in the lives of young girls as their role model,” she said.
Mureyi started her foundation schooling in Limpopo until her parents decided to bring her to Tembisa in 2015.

“I was then exposed to new things and met new people with different perceptions,” said Mureyi.
Since she started modelling in 2015, Mureyi has won a number of titles. She is the former queen in Miss Cutie Pie 2015, Miss Fashion 2016, Miss Beach 2016 and Miss Daveyton 2017.
She is the current queen of Miss Natural Midrand and one of the finalists in Miss Face of Tembisa.
“I am ready for both the competitions; all I need is your vote. My purpose is to come back and help plough back into the communities,” said Mureyi.
Mureyi is facing another task, as she will be entering Miss Teen Commonwealth 2019 with the help of her modelling coach, Precious Khoza.
Murayi has her eye on the title of Miss Universe.
Her message to young girls who would love to see themselves in her shoes is to keep believing in themselves and not let anyone discourage or lead them astray.
“Dreamers associate themselves with people who will encourage and show them how to pursue their goal,” said Mureyi.
