Motorcyclist critical after being hit by car in emergency lane on N12

A man, believed to be in his 20s, was left critically injured on Saturday night when he was knocked off his motorbike on the N12 near the Tom Jones off-ramp in Benoni.

According to Russel Meiring, spokesperson for ER24, the motorcyclist was parked in the emergency lane when the accident happened.

“Paramedics found the man lying in the emergency lane about 40 metres away from his bike. Paramedics assessed the man and found he had sustained a serious head injury and was in a critical condition.

“He was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions before being taken to a nearby provincial hospital for further care.”
