Pub-to-pub walk for little girl (1) with cancer
The foundation hosting the fundraiser was started in honour of slain ruby player Gert Roets (23).
The G5 Foundation, a non-profitable organisation started to honour slain rugby player Gert Roets (23), will host a pub walk in aid of a little girl with cancer, on November 10.
According to Cindy Jacobs, one of the organisers and sister of the late Roets, the event for little Janique Venter (1) from Bloemfontein will start at 9am at Prime Time 2 in James Wright Avenue.
Janique was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a cancer commonly found in the adrenal glands, when she was 14 weeks old. She receives chemotherapy every second week at the Universitas Hospital in Bloemfontein.
“We hope to help her parents with expensive medical bills and diapers,” Jacobs said. The entrance fee will be R50 or a donation of nappies size four or five.
From Prime Time 2, participants will walk to Harvesters, Prime Time 1, @TheLounge and back to Prime Time 2.
The initiative hopes to raise about R30 000 for Janique’s cause.
