Small businesses invited to expo
Small businesses can showcase their products and services at the Ekurhuleni Expo at Dries Niemandt Hall from December 3 to 5.

A small business expo will be held at Dries Niemandt Hall from December 3 to 5.
Dudu Lalela, a businesswoman from Glen Marais, will host the expo in recognition of small businesses in and around Kempton Park. Lalela says she sees so many people who have businesses but are not recognised in the market.
“We are organising this expo because there are small businesses that are doing good but nobody knows about them. I have been a mentor and I have been training people on how to start a business,” said Lalela.
The main purpose of this expo is to give these small businesses a platform to showcase their products and services.
“Normally we talk about access to the market, which means people with small businesses take their products and services to the market and end up being charged a lot of money to register, and then end up with no profit in the end,” she says.
“These business people end up being discouraged and pulling out because they don’t see where their business is going.”
Lalela says she thinks the market should come to the people, which is the purpose of the expo.
“It might just be a small start right now but in future, these businesses will benefit if they work hard enough,” said Lalela.
The expo will be from 9am to 6pm. You are required to bring your own equipment, like tables, chairs, banners etc. The expo will cost exhibitors R650 for three days. Registration forms are available upon request on info@ekurhuleni-expo.co.za
