Learners from Rhodesfield Technical High School excelled at the Ekurhuleni Debating Challenge Championships in September.
The categories in the championships were the junior level from Grade Eight to Nine and the senior level from Grade 10 to 12.
The junior debaters participated on Saturdays and the seniors on Sundays. The finale took place on October 27 in honour of the OR Tambo centenary.
The Rhodesfield junior team won their section, while the seniors won the board plate.
Phenyo Mphela, Nomsa Mboneli, Lesego Ngoasheng and Nkateko Hlongwane have been selected for the Gauteng provincial teams to take part at the South African National Schools Debating Championships next month.
