An enormous fire engulfed a residential lapa in Kempton Park on Wednesday evening last week, with flames blazing only meters away from a house.
According to Gerald Groenewald from Sec Pros Security, officers responded to the scene on Tulbagh Street at around 9pm after a guard in the area alerted them that unknown suspects had jumped the house’s fence.

“It is still unclear what started the fire, but it started after the jumpers exited the property,” Groenewald told Express.
Footage taken at the scene showed the fire destroy the lapa within seconds. Grass and trees surrounding the structure also caught fire.
“Fire services arrived on scene 11 minutes later and put out the fire as our water resources were depleted,” Groenewald added.
No one was injured as a result of the fire.
