Nursing staff excited as New Year’s babies made their arrivals

Tembisa Hospital delivered 21 babies on January 1.

As the New Year dawned, Tembisa Hospital welcomed 21 beautiful babies into 2019.

Hospital communications officer Shirley Matjila said 14 of the babies born on the day were males and seven females.

“The first baby boy was given a gift by the nursing manager, Wilfred Mothwane. Operational manager Matjatji Phasha and assistant manager Violet Ramalapa were delighted to welcome the New Year babies.

The baby boy weighed 2.5kg and arrived five minutes after midnight. His mother is Vanessa Mahlangu,” said Matjila.

She said the second baby is a bouncy baby girl, making her arrival weighing 3.2kg.

“She arrived 20 minutes after midnight. Her mother is Mbali Mtshali.

The third baby is a boy weighing 2.2kg. He arrived at 4.25am and his mother is Nokuthula Mpofu.

The fourth baby was a girl weighing 3.4kg. She arrived at 4.35am and her mother is Nompumelelo Maseko.

The fifth baby was boy weighing 2.8kg. He arrived at 6.15am. His mother is Cathrine Sithole,” said Matjila.

The Tembisan is delighted to welcome the New Year’s babies.
