Sir Pierre achieves 92% matric pass rate in 2018

The school achieved 102 distinctions in total out of the 205 learners who wrote the exams.

Sir Pierre Van Ryneveld High School is proud of its matric class of 2018 for achieving a 92% pass rate.

“We had 205 matriculants who wrote the exams in 2018 and we are very proud of our learners,” said Margaret Wrigley, the school’s principal.

“We also managed to get 102 distinctions in total and a 38% university exemption.”

The school’s top performing matric learners were Prudence Manamela and Theo Mashiyane, who share 11 distinctions.

Wrigley said the 2019 matric class is the biggest group the school has had in a long time and she is confident they will cope well.

“We want to work towards a higher pass rate,” she concluded.

Theo Mashiyane (5): mathematics, life orientation, accounting, life sciences and physical science.
