Career expo to be hosted at Greenstone Mall

The event is free of charge and will be open from 9am until 5pm on both days.

The High School Career Expo, in association with SABC Education, will be held at Greenstone Mall on January 25 and 26.

The exhibition is designed to provide both primary and middle school learners with opportunities and guidance for choosing a high school and selecting their subjects.

For the older teenagers, the expo is also designed to assist and equip the youth with the necessary tools to succeed in high school, tertiary education and beyond.

It targets thousands of young individuals from all walks of life, as well as their parents, education institutions, private sector businesses and even government officials.

All primary, middle and high school children and parents can learn more about public and private high schools including special programmes, extra-curricular activities and admissions criteria. You can find out which high school is most suitable for your child’s future.

Prospective learners will be able to meet with representatives from a wide range of universities, technikons, colleges and other tertiary institutions. They will also gain insight and career advice from leading field specialists to better understand the expectations and roles of their potential professions.

The learner expo aims to feed learners with valuable knowledge to make educated decisions regarding their future through discussions and presentations. Learners can also learn how to secure student loans and even bursaries.

They will get advice on how to manage finances when living away from home, should you take a gap year or not, as well as share information with other school leavers and parents.

There will be live talks and interactive programmes.

The event is free of charge and will be open from 9am until 5pm on both days.
