Ivory Park lass crowned Miss Africa Elite 2019
Naledi Ramaboea determined to help others.
Ivory Park lass has recently been crowned Ms Africa Elite 2019, Ms Elite Face Of Africa 2019 and Ms Africa Elite United Nation 2019 at the ATKV Buffelspoort resort in the North-West.
The pageant was spread over a week, culminating in the crowning ceremony on December 1.
Naledi Ramaboea (33) said she is a beauty queen with humility and a compassionate heart.“When my name was announced as the overall winner, I was in shock and couldn’t believe it.
I was overcome by all kinds of emotions, especially when I saw how proud my family was among the audience,” said Ramaboea.
She added she has dedicated her life to serving others.
“I will represent my country internationally at the United Nation Pageant next year. For me, to be crowned was never about becoming a celebrity, but to be an inspiration to girls and women in my community to realise that dreams are achievable regardless of difficult circumstances.
I wanted to show them that we as women can make a difference in our society.
Winning these titles has given me a platform to reach out to people’s hearts, thus making a difference in my community.
I am grateful for the tremendous support I have received from the community and my family. I couldn’t have done it without you.
Motho ke motho ka batho ba bangwe . Umuntu ungumuntu ngabantu . I am because you are,” said Ramaboea.
She said she received several awards during the pageant week. However, she took a lot of pride in being the recipient of the Dignity Dreams Queen 2018 award.
“Dignity Dreams is one of Africa Pageant official charity initiative in which all finalists are required to raise funds to buy Dignity Dreams washable pads to be donated to women in unprivileged backgrounds.
The finalist who raised the most money was honoured with the Dignity Dreams Queen 2018 award.
I would like to thank Africa Pageant director Carolyn Botha for giving me the opportunity to be selected for this finalist award.
Being a finalist was a journey of self-discovery and I’m still in awe of the impact I am making,” Ramaboea said.
Ramaboea will be hosting fundraising events this year to raise funds for her charity, for her international trips and would appreciate all the support from Tembisa residents.
