The man was airlifted to hospital with serious injures
An unidentified person, assumed to be a construction or factory worker in Chloorkop, was airlifted to hospital on Monday afternoon after being knocked by a forklift.
According to Shawn Herbst, spokesperson for Netcare 911, an emergency helicopter responded to a construction site at around 11.20am.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene, where they found the patient had sustained critical injuries after being knocked by a Hyster. The patient’s injuries were too extensive and a helicopter was called in from Rand Airport,” Herbst told Express.
“Although the patient was stabilised, he remained in critical condition,” he added. Herbst believes the person may have been taken to a private hospital.
According to Vincent Khosa, acting spokesperson for Ekurhuleni EMS, the City did not respond to the scene, as Netcare 911 had already tended to the incident.
Col Tobie Strauss, station commander for Norkem Park SAPS, said his members also did not tend to the scene.
“With such an accident, as there was no criminal intent, it is usually handled within the work environment.”
