Youths invited to outreach at St John Apostolic Church in Ivory Park

St John Apostolic Church is a rapidly growing church in the community of Ivory Park.

St John Apostolic Church in Ivory Park Two will host a youth/community outreach programme on January 26.

Many youths in Tembisa are from struggling households. Most of them have potential but go unrecognised. Not only that, but if we as a community create a space for the youth to be confident and comfortable we would prevent a lot of unplanned mishaps, like teenage pregnancy, drug abuse and school dropouts, Ivory Park Youth leadership said.

Saturday’s programme is called Spiritual and Mental Fun-Dementals and will start at 1pm at the church, 1904 Ivory Park Extension Four. Snacks will be provided and you are invited to bring a friend.

St John Apostolic Church is a rapidly growing church in the community of Ivory Park. In addition to offering services on Sundays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, they are proud of their community outreach programmes for the young and older people.

Their gates are open to all people in and outside the community of Ivory Park Two and they also host activities such as movie days, concerts and charity drives.

The youth of Ivory Park Two St Johns Apostolic Faith Mission has now embarked on a programme to try and motivate the youth of Ivory.

“We have arranged a day whereby a number of speakers from different companies within different disciplines will motivate the youth of Ivory to focus on education and state what criteria their respective companies use to analyse bursaries, learnerships and internships, apprenticeships as well as other programmes.

“The employed youth has developed a bursary scheme to take one deserving learner to university for a year, but these potential applicants will need to work hard during the year which will, in turn, assist in qualifying for external bursaries.”
