Bertharry English Private School hosted an awards ceremony on January 25 to congratulate its matric class of 2018.
Deputy principal Zandile Zwana said the school continues to witness big improvements in its learners’ matric results and was excited that in 2018 they got more distinctions.
“Our best matriculant, Tanatswa Garapo, got four distinctions.
“Our directors, Harry and Bertha Kumwenda, are so happy for the class of 2018’s achievement.
“The number of distinctions is 17, and we thank the teachers for their efforts,” said Zwana.
Bertharry English Private School got 100 per cent pass rate. They achieved 18 bachelor’s passes, 13 diploma passes and 17 distinctions.
The school’s performance over the years was:
• 54 per cent pass rate in 2014.
• 92 per cent pass rate in 2015.
• 85 per cent pass rate in 2016.
• 100 per cent pass rate in 2017.
“Last year was a tough year but with God by our side, we managed to pull through and come out victorious,” said Zwana.
