Stage 2 load shedding implemented on Thursday: Here’s your schedule

Although there has been some improvement, the power system remains vulnerable

Eskom will implement stage 2 load shedding on Thursday from 8am to 10pm.

Load shedding in Kempton Park will revert back to the City of Ekurhuleni roster.

In a statement, Eskom said due to some improvement in generation performance and notable strides made in replenishing water and diesel reserves, it was possible to revert back to stage 2.

While losing three units totalling 823MW, one unit of 600MW was successfully returned to service on Thursday.

Although there has been some improvement, the power system remains vulnerable, Eskom warned. Should Eskom experience significant unplanned generator trips, it could impact the magnitude and risk of load shedding.
