On February 7, resort employees selected 20 worthy causes to donate about R10 000 each to, to mark the resort’s 20th birthday celebrations.

Two Tembisa-based Charity organisations – Child and Family Welfare Society and Ubuhle Bezwe – were not left out.

Tembisa Child and Family Welfare Society’s Thuli Davane and Lindiwe Molefe and Ubuhle Bezwe’s Barbra Mthimkhulu, were among the charities’ representatives. The resort’s employees who nominated organisations were Millicent Manakana and Lesego Mokolobate.

R1.4-million was given as donations from proceeds raised through the Garden of Lights event. Apart from the R200 000 donated to 20 charities, R350 000 was each donated to the Peermont Education and Children’s Trusts, while a further R400 000 will be donated to the Reach for a Dream Foundation.
