Four severely burned as aerosol container explodes in Germiston

Four men were critically injured in Germiston South on Tuesday morning in what is believed to have been an aerosol container explosion.
Two of the patients had to be airlifted to hospital.
Shawn Herbst, spokesperson for Netcare 911, said a call was received around 8am about an explosion at a recycling facility.
The four men sustained critical injuries, including extensive burn wounds. The patients were treated on scene by advanced life support paramedics from Netcare 911 and another service.
Two of them were then airlifted by Netcare 2 and the other two transported by road ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
The incident was well controlled by the in-house fire and safety crews, Herbst said.
Police will investigate the incident.
