Miss T gives to Bakgethwa Orphanage Home in Ivory Park on her birthday
DJ Miss T gives back to the Tembisa community.
A local female kwaito DJ is reaching out to assist struggling orphanages in Tembisa.
DJ Miss T (Thembi Mkhumbane) said to celebrate her birthday she asked friends and family to buy groceries and stationery as a birthday present that she would then donate.
Through the campaign she raised a lot of groceries and other basic necessities to help orphanages get by.
On February 2 Miss T delivered the essentials to Bakgethwa Orphanage Home in Ivory Park.
“I asked my friends to buy me stationery for Grade R to Grade Four because many people face problems with buying stationery in January.
“This is a private orphanage and who is buying them stationery? I was touched and I appealed to fans and friends through social media.
“They responded positively and this is the best present I have received from the Tembisa community. I hope this vision of lending a helping hand continues throughout the year,” said Miss T.
Miss T thanked the Bakgethwa Orphanage Home founder and manager Matankie Makgetha for the love she gives to all the children sheltered by the centre.
“We will keep praying and asking God to give you the resilience to face all challenges.
“To the Tembisa community I wanted to say that I am still open for donations throughout the year and you can contact me to contribute,” Miss T said.
Makgetha said she was very happy about the help and she assured that the essentials will assist in training the children.
“We actually had a shortage of stationery and I am very excited about the donated stationery.
“Please do not forget us, continue to donate,” said Makgetha.
