Six locked up for speeding on the R21
The speedsters were detained at Olifantsfontein Police Station on charges of reckless and negligent driving.

Six speeding drivers were arrested on the R21 north and south between the Olifantsfontein bridge and Engen 1-Stop garages on Sunday.
Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, the metro police spokesperson, said the operation was conducted from 5am to 9am.
The metro police locked up two motorcyclists, three drivers in sedans and one in an SUV. They had registered speeds of between 186 and 167km/h.
The arrestees were all males, save one female, with ages ranging between 19 and 42.
Reasons advanced by the arrested drivers were either rushing to the airport or rushing to attend to the call of nature.
The speedsters were detained at Olifantsfontein Police Station on charges of reckless and negligent driving but subsequently released after posting bail of R1 500 each. They will appear in Tembisa Magistrate’s Court.
