Kempton Park teen still missing after interview in Pretoria

The 18-year-old teenager was last seen going for an interview in Pretoria.

Nokukhanya Shanon Shange (18) has been missing since Thursday last week.

According to the Missing Children South Africa flyer, Shange was last seen when she was on her way back home to Kempton Park from KwaZulu-Natal. While on the way, she called her mother to inform her that she would be going to Pretoria as she was contacted for an interview at Mpumelelo Training Centre.

Sipho Chabalala, junior manager at the centre, told Express Shange did arrive for the interview on Thursday.

“CCTV footage shows Shange arriving with a man suspected to be her boyfriend. It also shows her exit the building with her alleged boyfriend,” said Chabalala.

Pretoria Central SAPS’ W/O Joseph Skhosana confirmed what Chabalala said and added that Shange’s phone was traced to a street in Kempton Park on March 5. “Unfortunately, there was no house number so we didn’t find anything at the located area,” said Skhosana.

“The search continues and we ask that people who might have an idea where she could be to come forward with information.”

It is not clear what Shange was wearing at the time of her disappearance, but she has brown eyes and hair.

Anyone with information or who knows about her whereabouts can contact Pretoria Central SAPS on 012 353 4000 or Missing Children South Africa on 072 647 7464.
