Sasol celebrates with Marhulana Primary
The aim of the visit was to inform learners about science career choices available with Sasol.
On March 1 Marhulana Primary School hosted an event with Sasol for the Sasol Day celebrations in the school’s hall.
Sasol visited Marhulana Primary for the second time since their partnership started last year. The aim of the visit was to inform learners about science career choices available with Sasol. The learners were entertained with science exhibitions and demonstrations and motivational talks from the Sasol team and the school educators.
Sarah Mahlangare, Marhulana Primary’s principal, said they thank people who help the learners reach their potential.
“Sasol brought with them their international CEO, Morris Radebe, who spoke about careers in Sasol,” said Mahlagare.
“We need to identify learners who will be nurtured under Sasol management until they finish high school so they could start careers within Sasol. Our first aim is to reach a 92 per cent pass rate.
“We would like to send our regards to organisations that help selflessly – Sasol, Tembisa Local Taxi Association (Telta), Canon Ministries, Living Gospel, Well of Wisdom International Book Club and many other,” said Mahlagare.
Certified Tshabalala from Isizweni Centre demonstrated scientific experiments, including how to launch a rocket.
“Science is possible and is not scary. It just needs one to know what to mix and what no to because science, after all, is everything we touch on a daily basis,” said Tshabalala.
Mahlagare also extended the school’s gratitude to the Community Workers Programme, community members who work in the fruit and vegetable garden, which helps to provide lunch to the learners.
