BREAKING NEWS: Train derails at Elandsfontein Station

A train derailed at Elandsfontein Railway Station on Tuesday afternoon, leaving scores of people injured.

According to Shawn Herbst of Netcare 911 16 people had been injured. Their injuries range from minor to moderate.

Herbst said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found three carriages had derailed.

Once stabilised, all patients were transported to hospital by various ambulance services.

Authorities are on the scene for investigations.
