DA leader Mmusi Maimane, accompanied by the Gauteng premier candidate Solly Msimanga, visited Tembisa on March 12 to launch the party’s #ChangeChooseDay campaign.
The DA delegation conducted one-on-one discussions with members of the community.
The #ChangeChooseDay campaign will see the DA engaging with voters across the country every Tuesday up until the May elections.
They will speak to the people of various communities about the changes voters would like to see in the country.
“South Africans need change and the only way to bring about this change is through the ballot. If South Africans want a better tomorrow, then they are going to have to choose that tomorrow themselves. No one else can do this for them,” said Maimane.
Maimane touched on the issues of education, unemployment, social grants, Eskom and the Reserve Bank.

He emphasised that not a single household in South Africa should be without a job.
Maimane said he wants to see young people get a foot in the door when it comes to work experience. They should achieve this by doing a year of voluntary public service in fields such as education, policing and health care.
“This is why we are launching the second message of our election campaign here in Tembisa, a message that says ‘A Job In Every Home’,” said Maimane.
Msimanga said a vote for the DA on May 8 is a vote against corruption and a vote for locking up corrupt politicians.
“A vote for the DA is a vote for a government that fights for all and a vote to build one South Africa for its people,” Msimanga said.
