Dogs attack three young girls in Birch Acres
One seven-year-old was left with a cut on her head and bite marks on both arms.

Two Birch Acres dogs are in the care of Kempton Park SPCA after the animals attacked three young children in the area on March 15.
According to Gerald Groenewald from SecPros Security, they received a call for medical attention for a young girl who had slight injuries from a dog bite at around 6.30pm.
“While she received treatment, the two dogs went on a rampage,” Groenewald told Express. The two dogs, a young Rottweiler and mixed-breed dog, then attacked two more girls.
“One had minor injuries, while the other one (7) was thrown to the ground. She had a cut to the side of her head and bite marks on both her arms.”
“Medical personnel and residents scattered out of fear of being bitten. Our medic, Riëtte du Plessis, managed to get the patients into her medical vehicle to prevent further attacks.”
The three children were transported to hospital by ER24 for further treatment, while support was called from the SAPS, SPCA and AfriForum neighbourhood watch.
Security members managed to coax the dogs into a patrol vehicle, where they were kept until the SPCA arrived.
“The dogs are now in the safe custody of the SPCA,” said Kira Sparrow, manager at the society. It remains unclear what will happen to the dogs.
