Ward 15 meeting to address disaster management
The meeting will take place at Café Aroma at the Hoogland Church on March 30 at 1pm.
Residents from Ward 15 are invited to a public meeting at 1pm on March 30, at Café Aroma at the Hoogland Church in Van Riebeeck Park. The church is located on the corner of De Wiekus and Elgin roads.
According to Clr Gideon van Zyl, the meeting will focus on the establishment of a committee within the ward to organise a civil response in case of a disaster.
On the day, Hannes Kruger will present the disaster management framework that the committee has created.
“We trust that it will be the beginning of formalising our community response for any type of disaster – whether man-made of natural – that might affect the ward,” van Zyl said.
