Spur gives 60 burgers to Bredell’s less fortunate

“Living on the street is not pleasant,” one of the organisers said.

The 7 Eagles Spur in Modderfontein paid a special visit to Bredell on March 15, where they donated 60 hamburgers to the non-profitable organisation (NPO) Jesus Disciples Ministries.

The project, a subsidiary of Kingdom Care Ministries, founded by pastor Collin Bam, houses 60 disadvantaged adults and children who would otherwise be homeless. They are able to live on the premises at a reasonable rate. Bible study on Wednesdays and church services on Sundays are compulsory.

“Living in the streets is not pleasant, we like to see our lodgers’ tummies full,” said Penelope Engelbrecht, who is part of the organisation’s fund-raising department.

Jesus Disciples provides the 60 lodgers with one meal a day, something the NPO would like to push up to three meals daily. “We are so grateful for the kindness Spur has shown us,” Engelbrecht added.

Anyone who would like to contribute to the NPO can contact Engelbrecht on 079 933 9726.
