Four injured in two accidents on the N3 in Johannesburg

On Friday afternoon jsut before 2pm Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the N3 Eastern bypass in Bedfordview.

Four people were injured in two accidents on the N3 the past 24 hours.

Two women in their late 30s were ejected from their bakkie when it clipped a truck and rolled on the N3 south near the Grey Avenue exit on Saturday morning.

Ross Campbell of ER24 said ER24 and other services, including the fire department, were on the scene at 10am. One woman was found to have suffered moderate injuries, while the other was in a serious condition and required advanced life support interventions.

They were treated and stabilised before being transported by other services to Thelle Mogoerane and Sunshine hospitals for further care.

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department was on the scene for further investigations.

On Friday afternoon just before 2pm Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the N3 Eastern bypass in Bedfordview.

Shawn Herbst from Netcare 911 said  two heavy motor vehicles were involved in a collision.

Two adult males sustained serious injuries and were treated on the scene by an advanced life support paramedic.

The Netcare 911 rescue technician as well as the fire and rescue services had to use the Jaws of Life to free the trapped occupants, said Herbst.

Once treated, the patients were transported in a serious condition by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.

All necessary authorities were on the scene.
