Intervention to fight crime in the township

Tembisa South SAPS embarks on faith intervention to fight crime.

On March 23 Tembisa South Police Station officers and Ekurhuelni Faith-Based Organisation held a prayer event for reduction of crime and increase of peace at Samhlalele Community hall.

Tembisa South SAPS communications officer Capt Neldah Sekgobela said the procession started with a march from the police station to the community hall.

“Ekurhuleni Faith-Based Organisation chairperson pastor Nzo encouraged all churches to participate in the fight against crime.

“The judiciary was represented by magistrate Maila and the keynote address was by MMC Clr Dorah Mlambo,” said Sekgobela.

She said all the speakers encouraged the youth to help police in the fight against crime.

“The community was also informed not to bribe the police, it is a crime,” said Sekgobela.

Drum majorettes took part in the march to Sam Hlalele Community Hall.
