UBank donates food to Tumello Home in Ivory Park
UBank donates to a Home in Ivory Park.
UBank employees visited Tumelo Home for the Mentally Handicapped in Ivory Park Extension 2 on April 3 to donate food parcels as part of their corporate Social investment programme.
The home was established in 2001 and was opened by the then MEC for the Department of Welfare, Angie Motshekga.
Auxiliary nurse Lucy Molokomme said the majority of the children at the home suffer from fits and needed to be fed, supervised, trained to write and to be helped to exercise.

“We are thankful for the help and feel blessed. We are very grateful for having the UBank team taking care of our children who do not have relatives. Their donations are going to be put good use.
“The saying, ‘together we can make it’, is appropriate. Please continue helping us,” said Letty Matabane, the home’s receptionist.
Head of compliance at UBank Jerome Bagley said it was through their CSI that they were able to raise the funds which they donated to the home.

“One of our staff members identified the home for us and we decided we should help because we are community-driven. The parcels donated today would last for at least a month.
“If there is another call to come back, it will be a pleasure to, even if it this would mean cleaning the yard,” said Bagley.
Managing director of the home Solly Khuthama said they appreciated the contribution made by the bank.
“Most of our help comes from corporates and individuals, providing grants that cover 70 per cent of our costs,” said Khuthuma.
