Tembisa business people receive free training

CCBSA held a one-day free training at Rabasotho Community Hall in Tembisa where participants were Seta accredited.

On April 3, more than 50 local business people from Tembisa attended a one-day free training course offered by the Coca Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) Grow my Business programme at Rabasotho Community Hall in Tembisa.

The training covered aspects of being your own boss, role players in the business, start-up capital, profit and loss, pricing, and stock and stock control. Community members who attended the training and completed it received a Sector Education and Training Authority (Seta) Level 1 accredited certificate of competency.

The six-hour training programme began at 9am. The programme aimed to empower the community with business training on the food and beverage sector.

Georgett Naidoo, corporate social investment specialist, said CCBSA prides itself on the role it plays in the economy of the country and the socio-economic impact it has, particularly in the Gauteng region.

“We have developed an exciting model to largely grow informal traders, thus supporting the Department of Economic Development’s stance on small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) and in particular the plight of youth unemployment in this country,” said Naidoo.

Sydney Lehlongoane, the trainer, reads from his book while community members in attendance listen and take notes.
