Another tip-off to law enforcement authorities led to the arrest of two suspected drug dealers on Wednesday.
Kobeli Mokheseng, the spokesperson for the metro police, said they received the tip-off on Wednesday morning. Officers responded swiftly to avert a situation of the drugs being moved.
At about 10am a suspect in possession of Rock, Khat, crack pipes and Crystal Methamphetamine was apprehended. At 12.40pm another suspect was found nearby with dagga.
Mokheseng said a flat on Long Street, pointed out by the source, was swooped upon where 20 ziplock bags of Khat, four ziplock bags of Crystal Methamphetamine, 700 crack pipes, a half-moon of Rock and Mandrax to the value of R8 000 were seized.
A 29-year-old male Nigerian national was handcuffed.
Not far from there, in a house identified on North Rand Road, police uncovered 46 ziplock bags of dagga to the value of R900. The 23-year-old male Tanzanian national was arrested.
Both suspects were detained at Kempton Park Police Station on charges of possession and dealing in illicit substances.
