Experienced teacher takes over as head at Curro Serengeti

She was the typing and CAT teacher at Mandorren Academic and Sport School.

Rachel van der Westhuizen has been appointed the new head of high school at Curro Serengeti, replacing Johann du Toit.

Van der Westhuizen has been a staff member of Curro Serengeti since 2012. She studied at Potchefstroom University from 1989 to 1992 and obtained a Higher Education Diploma.

She is an experienced high school teacher and in her first year of teaching in 1993, she taught at Hoƫrskool Brandwag as a typing teacher.

From 1994 to 2006 she taught typing and computing at Spring Girls’ High School and from 2007 to 2011 she was the typing and CAT teacher at Mandorren Academic and Sport School.

Van der Westhuizen was also promoted to the FET Phase head position in 2007. In 2012, Curro Holdings acquired Mandorren Academic and Sport School and van der Westhuizen was appointed the CAT teacher and FET Phase head.
