On June 12, South African Lottery donated R37 000 to a local school to be used for sports equipment.
Muduopo Primary School sports coordinator Bongani Tshabalala said the money helped the school to acquire things such as a soccer kit, netball kit, athletics kit and chess kit.
“We are very happy because the sports learners will benefit from it.
“What I would like to say to South African Lottery is to keep up the good work.
“This is a great initiative to empower disadvantaged communities,” said Tshabalala.
“National Lottery Commission’s Amelia Rampai went around Tembisa to identify deserving schools and she understood our efforts to keep our learners mentally and physically fit.”
Tshabalala said as a school they were lucky to be among National Lottery Commission’s beneficiaries.
“All educators appreciate the work and the positive gesture shown by the National Lottery Commission to the school.
“We thank the effort they have put into this initiative,” said Muduopo Primary School principal Masilo Serumula.
Tshabalala said the learners cannot wait for the schools to open so that they can use their new sports equipment for different sporting codes.
