Business stakeholders donate to schools
Business stakeholders, together with SAB InBev, donated school uniforms to learners in primary schools in Tembisa.
Business stakeholders, together with SAB InBev, donated school uniforms to learners in primary schools in Tembisa, starting with Isekelo Primary School and Isiziba Primary School on July 6.
Sabelo Cafe manager Thulani Mkhabela came up with the #WinterDrive concept and approached SAB InBev to form a partnership and give back to the community of Tembisa. They donated 10 pairs of school shoes and school jerseys to each school.
Mkhabela said this partnership was inspired by GelezaTime, a foundation in Gauteng that stands for quality education.
“We would like to thank all stakeholders involved, SAB and coordinator Tshepiso for making this initiative happen,” said Mkhabela.

Tshepiso Mohapi, SAB InBev coordinator, said the vision of SAB was to improve the lives of others.
“We wanted to make the community aware of SAB’s corporate social responsibility and the role of the company,” said Mohapi.
Come Together Place Tavern owner Joshua Chabalala said since he stays close to Isiziba Primary, he noticed the needs of the children.
“We donated 10 jerseys and 10 pairs of shoes. It is not enough for every needy child at the school, but we look forward to other projects,” said Chabalala.
“We thank the team for coming to us, it is nice to see a child in proper school uniform,” said acting principal of Isiziba Primary Mary Mtsweni.
“We identified the children we saw fit to receive the donation,” added Mtsweni.
