Marhulana Primary School celebrated Heritage Month in style when they hosted the Marhulana Cultural Event Celebrations at their sports grounds on September 13.
As we approach Heritage Day, one school in Tembisa took it upon themselves to invite the community of Tembisa to celebrate Heritage Month with them.
Artists Sunglen Chabalala, Xinyeletala, Nwá’ Guyu entertained the crowd.
The school also launched their sporting kits they received from National Lottery Commission at the event.
The five-hour event showcased different talents; the school principal, Sarah Mahlangare, even took to the stage and showed off her Xibelana dance moves. Mahlangare said this was one of the best days for the school to remember as they were launching the new kits and celebrated a cultural event.
“It was an amazing event which our children and the community who joined us could enjoy.
“We had a successful event thanks to artists who came as far as Giyani, Limpopo, to support us,” said Mahlangare.
Robert Rikhotso, the school’s sport coordinator, said the learners are motivated by the kits.
“We hope to see future sportsmen from these youngsters.
“We have to utilise this opportunity and embrace the talents behind the uniform to get results. We see the future of our national teams when we look at this generation,” said Rikhotso.
