Adopt a family for Christmas programme is seeking donations for the needy

Puleng Rachidi (35) is seeking donations to create a positive holiday for the needy by giving gifts amid the global pandemic.
The aim of the initiative is to reach out to families that have been adversely affected by Covid-19.

She said the year has been a difficult year for everyone and those with minimal to no formal income have been the hardest hit.

“Christmas is a time for sharing and a time for giving. It would be a great achievement if we can help put food on 20 family’s tables.”
The initiative entails identifying families in need of groceries who will then be assisted through the #Ndimlo programme by receiving food parcels which they can use over the festive season.
“Residents and businesses can donate non-perishable foods, clothing, toys as well as books which can be donated to the less privileged over the festive season.
“I believe an individual should consider themselves blessed if Covid-19 has not disrupted their lives in any way or form. The mission of the organisation is to help as many people as possible as we are sailing through unchartered waters and nobody knows what the future holds.
“All organisations need to work together in order to overcome the situation we find ourselves in.”
