Kempton police bag centenary medals

The event was held on October 21 and more than 50 recipients received awards.

Women and men in blue paraded at the Apostolic Faith Mission to honour recipients who have been loyal to the police service for 10, 20 and 30 years in different categories.

The event was held on October 21 and more than 50 recipients received awards.

The centenary medals are awarded to members of the SAPS, a reservist or a civilian employee of the service who has displayed an irreproachable character.

The station commander of Kempton Park SPS, Brig Samuel Maredi, handed over the medals and certificates to the recipients.

During his address, he encouraged members to stay focused and dedicated.

“It is not in numbers but in unity that our greatest strength lies. Let us serve our nation with diligence and utmost determination,” he said.
Sgt Oral Maluleke, one of the recipients who received a 10-year medal and certificate, said that he was overjoyed with his achievement.

“It’s the first time I have received such an award. I will continue to render dedicated service to our community in Kempton Park and serve them with integrity.”
