You’re invited to the Community Family Market

Sector One CPF chief Reneé Erasmus is extending a warm welcome to the public to join his Community Family Market on November 7.
The festivities are set to begin at 10am on the day for an all-day family fun-filled occasion that will showcase stalls of local products and food caterers.
This event will be hosted on the corner of De Wiekus Road and Christoffel Street on the open soccer field in Van Riebeeck Park. Erasmus promised a multitude of activities to be enjoyed.
“The idea for this market, which I aspire to host annually, is to give the community a post-lockdown treat and give local businesses an opportunity to seek their fellow Kemptonians’ support,” Erasmus said.
“When you support small and local businesses, you support a family with purpose. The stall fees the vendors pay will be donated to charity as a way to support the community and help small businesses get back on their feet after lockdown.”
Activities and features to look forward to include the following:
• A jumping castle will be set up for children.
• Face painting and hair spraying stations.
• Soccer clinics for the athletes.
• Live entertainment by Talitha Lombard.
• A car wash will be in the vicinity.
• Random Acts of Kindness charity organisation with the chief’s table of amazing treasures.
• Santa Cause for Paws will collect Christmas gifts for animals.
• SAPS and local security companies like MML, Supercops and Alpha Security and Alarms will be in attendance.
“There will be breyani, roti, samosas, bunny chows, spring rolls, hamburgers, steak burgers, boerie rolls, buffalo wings, prego rolls, chicken strips, tacos, chilli bites, cooldrinks, slap chips, cakes, ice lollies, koeksisters, cookies, sweets, iced coffee – and so much more,” said Erasmus.
Arts and crafts, in addition to handmade products and furniture, will be featured among the many great products that local vendors have to offer.
“November 7 will mark about 40 days until Christmas, so come and get all your shopping done with over 70 stalls.”
All Covid-19 regulations will be adhered to.
