Tshepo Ntuntwana (18) is interested in benefitting from a truly international education.
The Hoërskool Vorentoe’s learner was awarded an athletic scholarship to study at a college-based facility in the United States of America in Kansas City. He will resume his classes in January 2021.
His athletics career began at Birch Acres Primary School.
Tshepo has won sportsman of the year, best newcomer, athletes’ athlete of the year, best middle distance athlete of the year and best cross country athlete of the year awards.
“I am an exceptional athlete who is committed to maintaining top results and physical fitness.
“I take part in fun road races as well as community fun runs and help train young athletes. I focus on being a team player who brings the win home for my team through serious training and dedication.
“The scholarship will be a great opportunity to study abroad but due to financial reasons I urgently need help regarding the required administrative matters as the scholarship does not cover these costs.
“I need R39 350 to cover a visa, flights and funds for the first two months,” said Tshepo.
“I’m from a disadvantaged family residing with my legal guardian who is my aunt, alongside three sisters and a brother.
“My family provides for me in best possible way, but this time it’s not enough to cover the costs to go overseas to grab this opportunity.
“Going abroad would be a life-changing opportunity for me as I love athletics wholeheartedly.
“The USA would be the best place for me to hone my talent and obtain a qualification from a recognised college.
“Winning and coming first has always been something I am passionate about. I represented my country at the World Youth African Games in Algeria and was part of the team to Italy for the Tri-Colour Games.”
