Stan Shikwambana has developed a free app for authors to bring their stories to life, taking their writing to the next level and making it easily available to readers.

Visionary Writings is an app providing a free digital publishing platform where aspiring authors can share their work with avid readers.

Shikwambana was motivated by the reality of a world where publishing and reading of books can be easily accessible to everyone regardless of their socio-economic status.

“We eradicate the high costs involved in publishing and in purchasing of books. We want to be a leader in digital publishing, from fictional books to academic literature, thus reducing the inefficiencies in education faced by students who cannot afford to purchase academic books.

“I grew up being passionate about reading and writing; however, I could barely afford enough books to satisfy my reading appetite and I struggled to monetise my writings or even to distribute them to enough readers.

“That’s when I thought of a digital solution using my self-taught programming skills to build the product. It is loved by both authors and readers as it limits problems like finance.

“The platform is monetised through the sale of advertising space, thus making it free to use for everyone.

“We have over 150 000 unique monthly users and we are constantly growing our user-base at double digital percentages,” said Shikwambana.
