Croydon’s Msizi bags R150k to elevate his business
The competition saw some of the country’s most ambitious entrepreneurs battle it out.
Kempton Park’s Msizi Hlongwane was the recipient of R150 000 in the Brut Virtual Elevator Pitch competition which will help the entrepreneur to elevate his business.
Other winners were Mxolisi Booi and Kabelo Moteme.
The winnings will assist Hlongwane’s bespoke furniture store with growth, planning and expansion.
Msizi, who resides in Croydon, started Labours of Love at the age of 23 in 2018 when he moved to Johannesburg with his young wife.
In a quest to turn their house into a home, the couple soon realised that this was no small feat.

With his background in construction, Msizi set out on making his own furniture, with his wife Zinhle giving him design ideas.
As the name implies, every piece of furniture is a labour of love to their clients.
Following three months of sifting through hundreds of entries of incredible talent and true essence of entrepreneurship, the top three winners were identified.
