Cross-pavement robbery hits CBD Shoprite

“The suspects fled the scene in BMW vehicles waiting outside.”

Emer-G-Med first medical responders informed Express of a cash-in-transit (CIT) heist that transpired on Monday at Shoprite located in Kempton Park CBD.

“We can confirm that it is alleged two suspects entered the Shoprite in Oak Street at about 8am and robbed G4S security officers of their firearms and an undisclosed amount of cash,” Capt Jethro Mtshali from Kempton Park SAPS said.

“The suspects fled the scene in BMW vehicles waiting outside.”

Mtshali added that no shots were fired and that their organised crime unit is investigating the matter.

“However, we still appeal to anyone with information to contact 08600 10111,” he said.
