Happening this weekend: Join Miss Deaf SA 2020 finalist for 5km walk honouring the deaf
This walk will be hosted on December 13 at the Family Fitness Kempton Park Centre at Avion Park located at 123 Highveld Road.

Local Miss Deaf SA 2020 finalist Chanika Viljoen (27) is inviting everyone to join the 5km walk honouring the deaf and hard of hearing.
This walk will be hosted on December 13 at the Family Fitness Kempton Park Centre at Avion Park located at 123 Highveld Road.

Entries will cost R100 per person and attendees are expected to gather at the centre at 7.30am to discuss the logistics of the walk, after which the race will kick off at 8am. Entrance fees can be paid cash or via EFT for which attendees will have to provide proof of payment to enter.
Chanika said that cold drinks and sweets will be available for purchase at the gym’s tuck shop and that the restaurant located at Avion Park Golf Club will also be serving meals at the halfway mark for those who might feel peckish.
“Miss, Mr & Mrs Deaf South Africa organisations will sell buffs at R50 each, key ring for R10 each and badges at R10 each. All the funds gathered at this event will be funneled to serve for the Miss Deaf SA Pageant.”
