R1 000 bribe refused, one arrested

According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson, officers were confronted by the bribery suspect at the police station.

Kempton Park SAPS arrested a suspect on December 9 for alleged bribery after offering SAPS members R1 000 in exchange for his friend’s release.

His friend had been arrested for possession of drugs on the same day at about 7pm on North Rand Road.

According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson, officers were confronted by the bribery suspect at the police station.

“Police officers refused to be bribed and arrested the man.”
